Purple Moose Brewery
Purple Moose Brewery has produced beer in Porthmadog since June 2005, creating quality local ales for the discerning drinkers of North-West Wales. Initially there were two different brands; Cwrw Madog/Madog’s Ale, named after William Alexander Madocks and Cwrw Glaslyn/Glaslyn Ale, named after the river Glaslyn.
Production increased steadily over subsequent years and there is now much demand for Purple Moose beer right across North Wales and beyond. Four different beers now make up the permanent range, after the addition of Cwrw Eryri/Snowdonia Ale and Ochr Dywyll y Mwˆs/Dark Side of the Moose. Monthly specials can also be found in the local hostelries. Purple Moose Brewery has been awarded many accolades for its range of beers including two times Regional Champion and Champion Beer of Wales, as well as awards at national level. Bottles are available from various retail outlets in the town. Purple Moose Brewery also has a shop at the brewery in Madoc Street where you can purchase the bottled beer and various items of brewery related merchandise.
